What is the meaning of hiking?

Hiking is a long and powerful hike, usually on country trails or footpaths. "Hiking" is an active long walk or hiking outing called jumping.

What is the purpose of hiking?

Hiking has always been an important outdoor activity, whether as a way of exploring, exercising, or contemplating. Putting a foot on a path through natural areas provides an unparalleled opportunity to build the human spirit, improve physical fitness, and increase environmental awareness.

Hiking For Beginners

Hiking for beginners can be intimidating, but there really isn't much. You don't need any special skills to start hiking, all that you need is to be able to walk and know where you are. It's a great way to indulge in nature, exercise well, and recharge your batteries.

Popular Trekking Trails for hiking in Saudi Arabia

Edge of the World

It is one of the best hiking trails in Saudi Arabia. It is popular with athletes, this towering view is located 96 kilometres northwest of Riyadh. The place is located directly on the edge of a steep cliff at Al Taif. There is no way down. When reaching the ledge, the only reasonable solution is to find a flat surface to rest on, at a safe distance from the shelf surface. 4X4 is required for this one as you have to cross rough terrain to get to it.

Al Ula Mountain Trek

The Adventure Trail will walk you through the lives of the people who inhabited this region thousands of years ago; you'll see their writings on the walls and learn about how they interacted and lived.

Some trail segments will feature deep rainfall ponds in the winter that are at or above the waist level. You can give a life jacket to people who cannot swim. The journey will pass through water pools, and you may need to swim across them. In the winter, the water will be rather chilly. Please remember to bring a change of clothes.

Jabal Al-Soudah

If you only have time to see one attraction while you are in the Asir region, make it Jabal Al-Soudah. It is one of the tallest peaks in Saudi Arabia and is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in the country. It is situated 25 kilometres from the provincial capital of Abha. Due in part to its extensive juniper woods, the mountain, which rises 2,800 metres above sea level, is one of the most vegetated locations in the Kingdom.

Visitors can engage in a variety of thrilling activities, such as skydiving, free fall sports, mountain climbing, and a 65-meter zipline, in addition to wandering through the mountain forest and taking in the historical landmarks.

Kara Heritage Trail

It is a 6.0 km long corridor that is slightly smuggled out and back and located near Taif, Makkah, Saudi Arabia and features a river and is classified as medium. The trail is mainly used for walking and can be accessed all year round.

Rijal Alma

Although it may not fall under the traditional definition of trekking as it is more than just a picnic, the Historic Village is a magnet for those who love heritage walks in the kingdom. The structures at Rijal Alma are at the foot of a valley with a mountainous environment in the background, and are in the same shape as they were a century ago - and a large portion of them at least remains so.

Wahba Crater

The geological formation makes for a fascinating excursion and takes about two hours to roam. You don't have to walk around the ledge here, there is a path that leads down towards the glossy white bed of the pit. Just keep in mind that the backup journey isn't that easy. You also don't need an SUV for this car, as there is a paved road at the edge of the pit.

Gubaloovka OHV Trail

It is a 95.6 km long point-to-point corridor that is lightly trafficked and located near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and features a lake and is classified as medium. The trail is mainly used for camping, scenic driving, and off-road driving and is accessible year-round. Hiking and camping in Saudi Arabia are two of the most important and popular activities to experience when visiting the kingdom.

Jabal Abyad and Jabal Bayda

Located in the heart of a vast coarse lava field in Harrat Khyber in the north of Medina, the arid beauty attracts trekking enthusiasts. Jabal Abyad is the tallest volcano in the country and is white in colour, and Jabal Al Abyad is a white ash cone located a stone's throw away. The two white volcanoes are located next to a third, stark black volcano called the Black Widow. The scenery is a true natural wonder that is best explored on foot.

Jabal Dakhan

It is located in the village of Al-Shafa, and it is assumed that it is the highest peak near the city of Taif. To climb this summit you don't need carbines, belts, and all the other fancy climbing gear - a good trainer would be fine. There is a road that goes straight to the summit, not exactly to the meeting, but it is still quite high. You can only walk on the road up and this in itself is a very strenuous task as the road is at a steep angle. And since you will be at high altitudes near Taif, you will enjoy the good weather that Taif is famous for.

Jabal Baloum

Enjoy one of the best trekking trails in Saudi Arabia in Jabal Abyad and Jabal Bayda. The highest peak in the Tuwaiq mountain range and one of the best Saudi hiking spots, Jebel Baloum rises around a stark desert landscape. The trekking path is littered with pebbles and loose rocks, so you should be extra careful here. Once you reach the summit, you can enjoy beautiful views of the valley surrounding the summit. You may also want to detour a large rock nearby that is filled with ancient rock art.

Wadi Disah

One of the most well-known and unquestionably one of the most stunning natural wonders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is Wadi Disah. Beautiful, clear springs can be seen that seem to be rising out of the valley and into the surrounding desert landscape.

The valleys are characterised by rising high mountains and rocks and are encircled by high mountains. It's a stunning area of the nation, in fact. And honestly, a distinct terrain within what is often considered a Middle Eastern desert nation.
