For the past 80 years, Half Moon Bay has been a popular vacation spot for many people, including oil workers and their families. Many generations have enjoyed the area's great grouper fishing and sailing. Half Moon Bay has been an outstanding classroom for thousands of divers practicing the sport of scuba diving, with an average depth of about 22 feet (with a few spots falling to 50 feet). With shallow entrances and few big sharks, it's a really forgiving sea.
