Things to do in Khasab

At the extremity of the Arabian Peninsula lies the Musandam Governorate, the smallest region that makes up the Sultanate of Oman. The Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf are divided by the Musandam peninsula, and the world's largest waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, is seen from this spectacular, naturally occurring rock formation. The area is also known by the well-known moniker "The Norway of the East," which refers to its resemblance to the country's rugged, towering cliffs. Most often found in colder climates with glaciers, the cliffs create stunning fjords. The region is centred in Khasab, with a few additional minor towns and cities that are home to the local fishermen.
